Why Would Spinal Decompression Work When the Orthopedic Surgeon says I need to have an operation?

Medicines, physical therapy, inversion tables, etc, may help lessen pain or reduce disc pressure. However, only spinal decompression has been shown to achieve negative pressures within the spine. It has been clinically proven that spinal decompression creates negative pressures as low as -110 mm Hg3 within the injured disc during the treatment session.

Normally, pulls exerted on the spine cause sensory receptors in the back to tighten the muscles surrounding the vertebrae & discs. This is in an effort to protect these structures from injury. This mechanism is known as the proprioceptor response. This typically includes muscle guarding & muscle spasms.

Spinal Decompression bypasses this response by slowly pulling on the spine & relaxing the back over an extended period of time. This is important because the procedure allows the discs to be repositioned without tension & without causing muscle guarding & spasms.

The result? No local pain. No radiating pain. Reduction or elimination of nerve pressure. More freedom of movement. More flexibility. Your life gets back to normal.
